50th. Anniversary CAR Jazz
« on: February 28, 2012, 02:22:39 PM »
Saw one of these at the shop today.  What a beauty!!!  Really nice finish and blocks on the neck.  If I were to buy a jazz, this would be the one!

Gee, if my family would just give me grief one more time about my J being purple (it's Midnight Blue), I'd have a reason to sell it and get the one that's closer to Crimson color!

Hmmmm.  Could be a plan there.

It's not your fault that Midnight Blue turned purple as it aged. You can't be blamed for selling it and buying one in a different color. Really.

Can't explain it, but I'm still gassing for the 50th. anniversary CAR jazz.  Guess I'm feeling nostalgic over my old 63 from my youth.   ;)

Building, or rather assembling, your own replica would be very easy Bill.  Allparts sells a dead on CAR body and all the other components.  Duncan or Lollar for the pickups.

This is the "Duck Dunn" tribute I built assembled in '08 before I got crazy and decided to build bodies.  "Stratosphere" (Ebay) MIJ Fender body, the rest Allparts with Duncan Antiquity II pup.
.  A first order of $200 from Allparts gets you dealer prices

You know Carl, I could easily build one, you're right.  I just have so many other irons in the fire, I don't know if I want to tackle it and then not finish it!  You've got me thinking though.........
