According to their FAQ:
"Reverend guitars are built in South Korea by Mirr Music Co."

I'm unclear on whether Mirr makes pickups in-house or outsources them to other firm(s).

(I haven't read to the end of the thread, don't know if it's been revealed yet).

I like both. I tend to favor A but I strongly suspect that's because it's just a bit louder, so it sounds like "more".
I have no idea which is which manufacturer.

Billy Gibbons is another one like Brian May ... he uses extremely light gauge 007 guitar strings, and is/was known for using a Mexican Peso coin (ground into a pick shape).
Although apparently he later switched to very heavy plastic picks that were made for him by V-Picks.

I can't relate to any of that at all!  I like thin picks and thick strings.  It's all about what feels right to the player.

Thin picks for me! I like to get my arm into it, something’s got to give.  I’ve been using the orange 0.63mm Dunlop tortex picks for so long that anything else feels weird. Bonus, the orange color makes them easy to spot / harder to lose, and I have never once broken one.

Surf is the original metal. We know the RRHoF can't deal with metal either!

I'm kind of joking, but seriously, this sounds a lot like surf guitar.

I read the article that kicked off all the fuss https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/15/arts/jann-wenner-the-masters-interview.html.
I have not read the book of interviews itself.

Of course there's nothing wrong with putting together a book of his favorite interviewees under any criteria he feels like.
What's egregious is pretending it's purely about some kind of objective merit.
"Joni was not a philosopher of rock ’n’ roll" - but Bono is?

Frankly the whole thing smacks of an ego trip. By his own admission he is/was friends with all of these guys.

Here's mr Watt playing "Bluey" in some raw footage intended for MTV.  I hadn't seen any footage of this two-drummer lineup.  It's fun seeing Nels Cline pre-Wilco.

Wish she was my grandma

That bass tone is nasty, in a good way. I really like it.
Apparently there's a story behind "grandma": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollywood_(Down_on_Your_Luck)#TV_performance

I'm trying to figure out what Lynott is playing there... the headstock is clearly an Ibanez of the era, but I've never seen one with a mirror pickguard (custom maybe?) and can't get a good luck at the pickup(s).
Maybe it's this bass? Apparently an RS900:

... now I kind of want one!

Am curious ... Are the chrome reissue pickups actually sized like vintage T-bird pickups, or are they drop-in replacement for modern birds?

Is the Gibson NR pickup actually any different from the Epi pro bucker?
I wonder if they sound pretty much the same.

So far just the lower wattage 100s and 200s. I wonder if they’ll reissue the 2000s.

I'm glad to see it, but wonder how many people will pay $3200 US for an ultra-simple 65w bass amp.

Those are indeed very nice to play and sound good. I had a single-coil sunburst one for a while in the 1990s. Wish I still had it.  I mangled mine into a sort of homemade baritone by converting it (badly and cheaply) into a six-string instrument. I don't know where that instrument ended up.
