Another 20 years and you can lug the Hiwatts to the nursing home to play for partially deaf boomers.

I thought real early ones of these used MIM necks and PUPs, and were assembled in the USA...

No. These have always been made in USA, not just assembled in USA. All bodies and necks were always manufactured in Corona. I believe some did have the same tuners as MIM classic models but those tuners weren't made in Mexico or the US anyway.

Are you telling me that he played that WITHOUT effects????????  Is that really the natural sound of that instrument???

Yes.

And without that tone-inhibiting chrome cover that the later models had.  :-X

Snow predicted here for early this afternoon but at 38 right now it's a little too warm.

<-------- time for a new avatar

That reminds me of a short dialogue in the 1966 movie Texas Across The River between Dean Martin and Joey Bishop (playing Kronk the indian, in an episode of miscasting seldom equalled) while under fire from a group of Comanches:

"Why weren't you born a Comanche?"
"Mother run too fast!"

Incidentally, the movie is a hoot!

I remember the movie because of the girl I saw it with (at a drive-in). Didn't pay much attention to the movie.

IMO Joey Bishop as the Indian was deliberate miscasting.

Lack of balance can really fool you.

It's a Q-80, not a Victory. IIRC all Q-80s had the custom shop logo (Uwe or Jules will have to confirm this).

$500-600 is the recent going price, but $699 isn't that high for a nice one like this.

Turns out this was all a hoax, allegedly to cover up extrajudicial killings by police.

Apparently there are at least three skanks.

Did you see Jesper Parnevik's statement? "I really feel sorry for Elin, since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him.... We probably thought he was a better guy than he is.... I would probably need to apologize to her and hope she uses a driver next time instead of the 3-iron."  :o
