New England was hit hard with a freak snowstorm around Halloween - because there were still leaves on the trees they caught the wet snow so lots of power outages - someone I know in Central Massachusetts only just got power back yesterday.

I'm teaching an online course through Tom Edison State U in New Jersey and some of my students are in that area - they've been without power for 2-3 days and are just now catching up.
