That was the one I almost bought!!! He's the guy who owns the Explorer bass. Nice guy. But...I decided to go with a couple of more 100 watt Hiwatts.

"hangs at horizontal"

That's a bit unusual, isn't it? Aren't most of them more unbalanced than that?

There's a bid on it now, too.

When I had Gary's Embassy it did not hang at horizontal. I never found out how low it would go. I was afraid if I took my hand off the neck the headstock would hit the ground.

I got the S strap for my BaCH, and now for the Embassy.  It helps out quite a bit.  I think that after 18 years of the Embassy the first time, I just got so used to holding the neck that I stopped noticing any neck drop.

That's right, I remember you had a counterweight bag hanging off the bottom strap button.

I've never had no problems whatsoever, concerning how my Embassies hang. Don't have neckdiving, use a regular strap. Though I hang it low, even if I can't think that would matter. The T-bird I had 30 years ago was quite neckheavy, though.

Perhaps we now have a Bass Outpost greeting:  "How's yer Embassy hanging?"

A simple "hows it hanging" could apply to most Gibsons i think. :D
Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.

Yes, and if that "counterweight bag" was from natural sources then I always found that one sacrifice too far!
