I just can't get used to that bridge arrangement.  Wish they'd gone with the old style bridge.

 Just like mine.................. ;D

Loudest, hottest pick up on ANY bass ever!

It'll rip your face off. You can alway replace the 3 point with one of Scott's replacements.
I think they're kinda rare.
If I didn't already have one I'd be all over it!

Unfortunately I'm not in the market for basses right now otherwise I'd buy it. $850 may seem high for a copy but there are two things that elevate these from the usual Grecos you see. It's a II of course, but also it's a 70's model and extremely close to the real thing, soundwise. I put Scott's bridge on mine and it actually intonated fine. The G string is about as close to the end of travel as it can be, but it still works just the same.

For the $$$$ that's the best Thunderbird out there, the pick up knocks the socks off of anything else. Rawr!

A real beauttty! But I just found two JBL L112, newly renovated, for my home speakers, and at a good price. That's where any extra money is going!

I'm told by Mike Lull that Paul Chandler designed that pick up for them, based on a '60s Gibson - What I know is that as a single pup bass these are fantastic, simple instuments for esp good for rock, the set neck tightens the tone up some over a standard Gibson and it sounds great played fingerstyle or with a pick. As value vs $$$ goes these are really hard to beat, the QC is real good and it's very study, really a work horse bass.
