I'll abmit to having limited experience, but my first NR bird (that I bought lightly used in 1969) had three strap buttons, just like the one on ebay now. I thought three buttons were standard.

John you know I never knew JAE used NRs till I started hanging out online ! The first time I saw a picture of him playing one was at the pit. Nice to know I have good taste in basses after all these years !

Then  found the clip of him playing a Fenderbird that looks like mine. If I remeber correctly it was given to him by JE.

Leons bass had custom inlays and he also used it during the reformed Lynyrd Skynyrd days. By then it was refinished and modified with a different bridge (Schaller 460?) and EMG pickup:

BTW. I suppose that Bach can't handle their email inbox very well. I sent them my phone contact last Wednesday. Today I got the request once again.
That probably means they have'nt shipped my bass yet....

Because of the BaCH I was watching some pics on nonrev Birds. Some of them have black headstocks (I see it on sunburst, red and white Birds) and others have matching headstocks. What's the story?

The way I remember is that stock burst ones had black headstocks and custom color ones had painted headstocks. the theory was that refinned ones sometimes left the headstock black.

And check out the funky "upper horn extender".

Too bad about the EMG. I LOVED EMGs for a long time. It's only been in the past 3-4 years that I've "deactivated" all my basses except for my fretless Kramer lumie. That thing sounds too good to mess with.

Back on topic.... Anyone try fitting a proper non-rev pickguard on a Bach yet?
