I have a 99 fretless US Jazz incoming any day now and I'm going to give it a couple of weeks to be sure but I think it will be torted one way or another but I don't want to put extra holes in it if I can possibly avoid it.

I want to replace a white Jazz Bass pickguard with a tort guard. What are my best chances of getting a new guard where the screw holes match the old guard?

I can't say I'm really a fan of Brand but, as Uwe suggested, he is a poet. His use of English seems to me extremely clever and often very delicate.
I heard a little of his BBC radio show last saturday and he said he was surprised at how many people he'd upset at the MTV awards given that he'd held back and had not said what he really thought (which was something like democracy is a sham and don't bother voting at all but if you have to vote then vote for the most liberal candidate).
And he has my applause for having a go at Bono and Geldof too.
And if US comedians or anyone else want to come to Britain and have a laugh at us and our politics then I say you are welcome, that's freedom of speech. Come and join us in a very long history of outrageous political satire.

I was in there two weeks ago and the black NR either wasn't there or I missed it - mind you I was concentrating on my 14 year old son not damaging the custom colour Firebird VII he was playing.

« on: May 16, 2008, 07:22:52 AM »I can't run the video at work. I know Ed Friedland has been saying a lot of good things about them, and is actually using one on gigs. They're not cheap, though I suppose if it saves you buying an SVT, they're actually small change.
It will save you carrying the SVT too.
