Without the frets, that would reduce the weight from 14 lbs. to a mere 13 lbs. 15 oz.  ;)

Looks in reasonably good shape. If I were interested, I'd ask for more photos and assurances that the neck could be adjusted flat.

I have a Victory Standard fretless, it is stamped SECOND probably due to some black fungus streaks in the maple neck, these days you would probably pay a premium for them! Nice fretless, could see that working well with an Artist too. If this wasn't CAR, I'd be seriously tempted.

Due to the steel rods, Victory necks are stiff as hell. So stiff in fact that it deadens the sound a little.

You wouldn't be collecting for finishes, Uwe, since you don't have a fretless Artist.  ;D

Denis!!!!  :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X  I knew that argument would come, I was waiting for it. But not collecting for exotic fins does not mean that one cannot wait for one in a nicer fin, ja? There was a black Vic Artist fretless on Ebay years ago, I should have lapped that up. A tobacco or antique burst one wouldn't be bad either.

Of course it was bound to come up! In this case though, I think it's warranted. Any idea how many fretless Victories were manufactured? Yeah, you COULD wait for a nicer finish but as you say, that black one was on eBay years ago.

I once played a Victory in a store while standing to see if I could tolerate the weight. After about 20 minutes my left shoulder was aching like crazy, even though the bass was pretty well balanced.

Not for me.
