Sound O Ric
« on: October 05, 2011, 01:53:11 PM »
I recently had the pleasure of adding bass tracks to a project called Lunation. Their album "Restless" was released yesterday, and I'm REALLY happy with the results. Half the tracks were already finished (with keyboard bass) when I came on board, but I got to do my thing on seven tracks, including:

3. Unscrupulous
5. Wash All Over You
8. Confusion
9. I'm Still Alone
10. One of Some
11. A Different Day
14. Restless

3, 5, and 10 are the 4003S. 8 is my 4001CS. 9 and 11 my Kramer fretless, and 14 my Guild Pilot 5 string. We utilized Dropbox to exchange files, and I did everything on my Pro Tools rig at my house. Gotta love technology! I ran everything but the fretless through a Sadowsky pre amp for some bass and treble boost, and tracked with a Chris Lord-Alge compressor plug-in insert. You can hear samples at the link below. Thanks for listening!

That is actually very nice and I don't mean just the  - as always exquisitely played - bass!!! When will the CD be actually available? Sign me up for it.

Thanks Uwe, I appreciate it! As soon as I heard one song, I knew I wanted to play bass on it. You can buy either physical product, or mp3 download right from the cdbaby link.

I'm going to seek permission to include a song on the LBO CD.

Whole CD is up... I know this is a Ric thread Tom, but...  8) you still manage to get that "jangle" in on this one...

On another divertion... just love the combination of great sax and guitars...

Some really great work... pat yourself on the back cos' I can't reach it from here... :toast:

Thank you! That is the epic closing track. I played my 80s Guild Pilot 5 string on that particular track, tuned down a 1/2 step I believe. The stock EMGs have been replaced with Duncan passive pups.
