Made it to the 30 second mark.  ;D

Sorry, I spent my stimulus check on the Melody Maker. No more new basses (or guitars) for awhile.

I actually have that StarCastle album on vinyl and rarely get past the 30 sec mark myself.
And  BJH album I think, unless I already gave it away...  :bored:

I love the SG Doubleneck in Tony Bacon's Ultimate Guitar book: 6-string guitar and 4-string bass... ..With Fuzz!

Actually, I doubt the custom shop would make it (for me), even if I asked and paid a king's ransom for it. They'd only do that if I was a celebrity. They might do it for Chris!

But it's on my mind and my luthier could indeed glue an SG RI and and an SG Z together. A fretless longscale and a short scale fretted eight string would even see regular action with me, it would be extremely fun and creative to play.

I'll let my management ask Gibson.

Just picked myself off the floor, cleaned up the mess and finally composed myself sufficiently to reply...

Not quite what you were "looking for", Uwe, but it is a double neck, one being fretless and the other being 5 string...

Please, let's leave the non-Gibsons out of it.

Jules...........Nice spread of your 20/20 on your web sight!! Looks like it cleaned up nice!! Is there any record of how many of these were produced in both colors? Walter Carter seems to know some of these totals after 1979. If he's still at Gruhn's Guitars, I'll try to email him.  :-\

A nice start. Uwe will be pleased that Jules finally has a 20/20 page, even if it's not complete.

There's a Swedish band, Teddybears Sthlm who seem to be endorsed by Gibson. The recent catalog from Luthman (Scandinavian Gibson Importer) show pics of their bassplayer with a rectangular SG Reissue. I've also seen him with a regular SG Reissue and RD Artist. Their guitarplayer uses basses for some songs. He borrowed one of mine when we opened for them once. He has a rectangular double neck Gibson. The bass being an SG Reissue and guitar probably an SG neck. Only pics I could find right now were these:

Uh oh. I can almost hear the wheels turning in Frankfurt.

Will Uwe be forced to wear a teddy bear outfit in order to get a Gibson rectangle bass? Stay tuned...
