Over on TB a member had a black series II Bach TH-1 for sale I sure don't need it but I got it for a real good price! That makes Three Bachs and four Gibson NRs. ;D First order of biz is to install a Thunderbucker and new guard.
-
Stupid GAS...
-
I sometimes think about selling by black Bach NR. But then I play it and I love that thin neck and thin body! I keep lusting after a BlackBird so someday I may let the Bach go to buy one of those Gibbies. GAS is a bad thing.....at least according to my wife ;D
Something tells me this won't be Scott's last NR purchase.
-
I find it very interesting that of the Series II Bach NRs, the black ones surface way more often than the white or blue ones. I've NEVER seen any of the 10 blue ones for sale after the original purchases.
-
Congrats! I saw that you bought it.
-
if a blue or white one surfaced i would probably have to scoop it up
-
DYING for a white one I should have bought Tom's!

Ah, now I don't feel so alone in my affliction!
-
At least I'm not spending my money on drugs, booze and women ;D
-
I am going to have fun with this one, I'll most likely refin it at some point. These are great for outdoor shows, don't have to worry so much about them if it rains.
-
You know, Scott, you should just give in and buy the Holy Crap bass while you're at it. This thing will peel the paint off the back walls.
You know you want to. Give in to the dark side....
-
Gary, Please stop I am highly suggest-able. I do want it, it's got 4 strings doesn't it ? Plus it's celebrity owned. ;D
-
GAS notwithstanding, I just want MY damn JJ back! >:(

Chromium used to have a white one ;)
-
Can only agree! The Bluebird stays!!!
-
She's here! Brad from tb did a great job packing this thing up! I'll post pics soon with her twin.
-
Here's a quick picture of the twins. Both soon to be sporting Thunderbucker Max pups :)(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/godofthunder59/craigslisttoolsbachtwins013.jpg)

Woah! Scott!
Two identical BaCHs... Why?
Oh and Denis, BaCH still has the blue BTH-2 in stock... :o
-
Well two is better than one right ? Honestly the series II really hit the nail on the head for me, Ya done good Rob :) Just how long these will be around is anybodies guess. Brad over on tb had it up for sale for a price I couldn't refuse. One will get a refin at some point. Both soon to have Thunderbuckers though the stock pup is just fine.

Can you fill me in on the details of the 2nd series Bachbirds? I have a cherry TH-2 - have no idea which series it came from. I'd prefer to have a single-pickup in white, but I wasn't in on the initial buy.
-
The series II has a thinner body and the belly cut like the original 60's NRs also the neck is slimmer.
-
OK, so mine does not have a belly cut and the body is 1-7/16" thick. The neck is pretty slim. Would it be from the first series then?
-
I don't think they made the cherry finish until the third run. Anyone know for sure? My black one is the second run.

Are your bridge saddles notched? I don't think they were before the third series. My honeyburst has approx. 1 3/4" body. no belly cut and saddles with notches cast into the saddle, not cut. My series II white has thin body, belly cut and no notches. They both have the same neck profile.
I'm guessing BaCH didn't cast notched saddles, stop and start again...though they did with the belly cut and thin body.
-
I am pretty sure the Cherry are series III
-
The cherry ones are series III. I bought one as soon as they were available, and sold it almost immediatly because it was so different from the series II. Here is a picture illustrating the difference.

Looks GREAT SCOTT! ;D
Soon, I will have twins as well...
-
And if anyone wants another, I have a cherry series III TH-1 witha Lull pup for sale.
-
Which one balances better weight-wise - the thick body or the thin body?
-
Well that depends on your expectations. The thick body series III hangs/feels more Fender like but the thin series II feels how a NR should feel.
-
Hangs...like a very long Fender! The TH-2 reminds me of the Victory the way it hangs.

I got no expectations - this way I'm never disappointed. :-\
