Ibanez Retro Jet King Bass

<< < (2/3) > >>

gweimer:
I don't mind the bridge plate so much. These are the first Ibanez I've seen in a while that appeal to me.  I've never been a big fan of them.  And I'd probably swap out the pickups pretty quick.

godofthunder:
The bridge plate is a bit to Traben but on the whole I like the bass. What are they going for ?

Dave W:
I don't know, but I see there's a Jet King guitar that's been out a while and it's $400 list, $300 street at zZounds. It also has a big bridge plate.

Max Soren:
I have mixed feelings about it.  I kind of like it, but on the other hand, it reminds me too much of problematic Teisco which was my first bass.  Of course, I know it's supposed to just look like a cheap 60's bass, not actually play like one.

Basvarken:
A guy on a Dutch Bass forum checked one out the other day.
He said it's horrible quality:

- there was a gap from 1 to 2 mm between fretboard and neck.
- wobbly pick guard
- brittle finish. if you scrape with your fingernails it chips right off.
- one of the machine head wouldn't stay in tune. It kept dropping from E to almost D.
- dull strings (straight out of the box from the factory).
- noisy pots
- bridge isn't straight

Haven't seen it in real life myself, but according to the above story I would say a No Go.
