Title: Anyone here ever see the Rouge brand Alembic knockoff?
Post by: Psycho Bass Guy on January 18, 2013, 07:24:07 AM
To make it perfectly confusing, about 15 years ago, I encountered a "Rouge" bass that was a copy of the Alembic Rouge: neck-through, figured body wings, two soapbar pu's with and active preamp; only cosmetic difference was a one-piece bridge and the same shape headstock with the top chopped to the 'Rouge bump' just above the tuners. I played it at Musician's Friend when they first opened and aside from some nasty hum from what I imagine was poor shielding, it was a VERY nice bass, better neck than the REAL thing. I've never seen one since, and Google image is useless. Any of you ever come across one? I'm just curious.
