BaCH-Geier lackierung
« on: March 14, 2009, 04:37:11 AM »
Guys,

I will have a bird on the pickguard of my BaCHBird within days and also within days I have a chrome pick up cover/handrest in for the BaCH. The chrome bridge cover is already in.

Now I'm thinking of refinishing it. I love Uwe's blue one as you all know, but I also love Inverness Green. Any comments?

If I decide to get it refinished, how can I get close to Inverness or Pelham? Any RAL-numbers available?

Thanks!

I think you schould go for green, I'll take the blue then,  ;D

I'm thinking of doing a refin on my bird as well. Maybe something like plum crazy purple or candy aplle green of red. Or is that to much.

Pelham Blue is nice, but Uwe has been there done that, as you know.

You could have half way and do Pelham with a heavier yellow tint than what Uwe did-

match this

Regular Pelham is not the same as Lake Placid- It is more a steely gray blue.

No way look at Marks birds. They are amazing.

Mark has a CAR bird.

Are you going to do it or are you going to have someone refin it?

You might want to ask on the ReRanch forum. Uwe's luthier should be able to provide you the paint source.

I know a local guy here who wants to do it. I guess just with car paint, but it's a 160 euro bass, so no problem;) And he's cheap:D

I found this:

Inverness Green  Dupont: 2940L   PPG: DDL42480

Is this usable in Europe?

I'm going to leave it white.
Although I like the thought of all those BaCHbirds being personalized/modified by their owners.

How about a Silver Fox refin?  That would look sick!  It has to have a mahogany body though - are the Bachbirds mahogany?
