The horrible reality is that the vast majority of musicians just don't make it, and many (unlike those Brits, Foghat - Savoy Brown, by any other name, "What a shame" that Rod Price and Lonesome Dave P have left us) just fall by the wayside...

How about Stray...? Del Bromham wrote a host of hooks and they released some remarkably good LP's, but they just never made it into the top flight - there was a period of time during the late 70's when Pye was really pushing them and it seemed like they were supporting just about everyone... still got all their LP's on vinyl...
