Me covering Phil Collins.
« on: June 21, 2008, 07:10:44 PM »

I actually wanted to do "Turn it on again" but that was a little too difficult with the 13/8 time signature and my very limited drumming skills, anyway, this was a lot of work and I had a blast doing it. I hope you guys like it.

I'm listening to all kinds of things I listened in my teens tonite. Great fun. All youth sins before I became a Britpop, 60s Britpop ans STAX-soul fan...

Things like:
- We Said Hello Goodbye - Phil Collins
- My Melancholy Blues and Spread Your Wings - Queen
- Some Dutch stuff you won't know and Lying All The Time by The Outsiders. (okay, also some 60s stuff)
- The Weight by Sheryl Crow and The Wallflowers
- And much more.

But what I wanted to say: Phil Collins is great for air drumming! I stopped playing air guitar @ Baba O'Riley Live since I crashed my hand in a lamp....

I hate the 'Brother Bear'-period Phil Collins, but in his old days he made some brilliant albums!

He ruined any creed he had with his R&B and Disney period

Every forgets what an amazing drummer he was

Oh he won his credit back alright. When Genesis was rewarded a lifetime achievement award by the Brittish mag "Uncut" he said:

"A big thanks to everybody who has put his career in jeopardy by voting for us."

Earning him a thumbs up from the most unlikely man to ever get a compliment from: John "Johnny Rotten" Lydon.

Q magazine once said: Listen to Genesis' Nursery Crime and you understand why punk happened:D

It's not cool to like 'm, but Selling England By The Pound is a classic album and so is the first PC album.

He just isn't cool, but f*ck that! ;)

@ Skate Rat: I think Phil's glad you aren't a fan;)
