Anyone knows if the Guild Bisonic was a swedish Hagstrom in the beginning? Or was it the other way around? You, who's in the know, should let the light shine on all of us?

Been in our summer house since May, only home to do the washing. And then, tonight, I finally got time to sit down at the computer. To find this nice music, with a bass that sounds the way I like it to sound! Thank you very much, Thunder!

Back to business! First time I ever saw a T-bird was in 64. The bass picture was printed in a Hagstrom folder with the usual suspects of Gulds, Gibsons, Hagstroms, and Hofners. The T-bird looked fantastic! But my wallet couldn't afford it. So I got me a Hofner violin shape. Cost aboout $ 60.00. Which was affordable, as I just started working at a power plant. Doing boring work, but it got me almost where I wanted. A violin bass. But not the one I was a sucker for. A T-bird. Took me another twenty years before I realised the importance of making dreams come true. A couple of years the thrill was gone...

And for those of us who know the difference between a sloppy drummer and a driver to rely on, here's a 45 from '66. Our man Graham, in the company of guitarist Jimmy Page. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LdnSTUdYKo&list=RD0LdnSTUdYKo&start_radio=1&t=22

The Outpost Cafe / Bobby Graham

At last, as sis Etta James so cleaverly put it, is it possible to get the memoirs of the sublime - yet raw - English drummer Bobby Graham. He did a Ramses II - who left Memphis for heaven, according to The Fugs -  twelve years ago. He was a great drummer, and he was heard on many, many recordings from both the 60's, and the 70's. Put the swing behind Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones, The Kinks, and many others. Including Dave Clark Five, though that wasn't so much about swing as good payment.

Bobby's got his own site on Facebook, and there's where I found his memoirs. The package included a cd with recordings by him. And, if I got you interested by now: you know that first knack on Kinks You really got me, and all the drumming on the tune, that's not Mick Avory. Guess who it is... Yeah, you're right. It's that english drummer.... the one named.... named... Billy, was it? No.... Bonny? Not him either..... Well, then it's got to be one of all them Bobbys? Right? Well, well..

Talking about Them old Kinks, a certain tune comes to my mind. This one, which does not include anyone else but Mr Avory, but anyway is sooooo goooood, and got such a beautiful life's philosophy... Plus, it could almost be a Beach Boys tune.

Have a nice weekend!

As we all know, the Epiphone Embassy is a T-bird in disguise. Here, in the company of a gang that seems to be on their way to a masquerade, it fits perfectly! Don't we all pity the drummer who can't join the rest of Paul Revere's Raiders for the stage show.... All right, at 1:50 anyone can join the choir with "That's what I want".

The Motors were the offspring of the English pub rock band Duck de Luxe. Here they are, from -77 I'd guess. Whether that white T-bird is a 60's one, or from -76, I can't tell.

Anyone in the know of what bass there is at 2:35? Most spectacular tune, by the way.
