The latest Brooks bass build is almost finished. I still have to do some details, but here are some snapshots that I made this afternoon.

Wow, great design again. The Ric/ Epi Embassy inspired combo shape of the body is really nice. I think you hit well in your aim at something uniqye, also Lace pickups are'nt used that often for example. Good work once again Rob!
-
Beautiful work as always, Rob. I'd love to hear a sound clip.
-
THAT IS A BEAUT! How is the lace pup?
-
Thank you guys.
I am impressed with the Lace Alumitone humbuckers.
They're dead silent. And the highs are chrystal clear while the lows are tight and deep.
The wiring hasn't been soldered yet. I've only wired it directly to the jack output.
Will post a short video when it's fully functioning.

The fretboard inlays expanding and contracting are a nice touch. Congrats on another fine build.
-
Really pretty. I like the contours
-
I’m generally not fond of figured tops, but the flame with that blue looks spectacular.
Great work!

Found some time to take pictures now that the bass is completely finished.
Not entirely happy with the pics (the camera lense is not 100%)
But I've put the ones that are acceptable online.

That is just lovely
-
Wow, that looks great!
Is that a reinforcing strip of some kind across the base of the fretboard?

It's a truss rod cover.

Yep.

Really beautiful! I'm impressed by your handcraft, Rob. Are you gonna let us listen to her sing, too?
-
It's a truss rod cover.
Sneaky!! ;)

Here's a quick video that I made of the Brooks EB-N.
(just me noodling on the new bass)

Beautiful work...and great playing!
-
Thank you Carlo.
I was actually saying to myself that I really should pick up the bass more often. Because my playing has become incredibly sloppy and rusty over the last few years, since I'm not in a band anymore.
Making this little video took me quite a few takes to get it acceptable... :o
-
Sounds great, Rob.
-
Very nice... 8)
-
The bass sounds excellent, and the musician is darn good!
-
Nice!
The back looks like a little 4005.

I see what you mean Ilan. The way the upper horn and the lower horn follow the same curve.
I made a new video by the way. I wasn't very happy with the recording quality of the first one. It has too much distortion in the low end.
I didn't have any proper recording equipment to go into the iMac.
So I bought a Focusrite Scarlett Solo to get a decent signal into the computer.
At least the the sound quality has improved a bit.

That does sound much better.
Do you always frown when you play? ;D
-
Haha, only when I don't know what I'm doing
Maybe I should join a band again

-
That does sound clearer.
Nothing wrong with your playing.
-
Well those pictures irrefutable. . . a band is good for you.
-
Haha, that isn't always a guarantee for success...

That will be a slightly acquired taste, but the more I look at it, the better I like it.
-
Those contours are awesome!

It'd be nice if Gibson built basses like this. I wouldn't hold my breath for it. Good going again Rob.
