The neck is longer, by roughly 2 1/2 inches. Do generic LP cases have that much extra room at the headstock end?

Check post # 666 here regarding MF LP guitar case

Just looking at a couple of LP cases that I have around - none of them being Gibson - I believe that they should have enough room.

That's good to know. More room there than in a factory Gibson LP case.

I noticed that there were LP DC Jr Tribute basses in Sweetwater's current clearance sale. Three different finishes (no black), three or four of each available. Apparently new, not demo or return, $699 each, limited time offer. Good deal if you're interested.

Maybe they didn't sell and are discontinued already? That'd be a shame. It seemed like something actually different with a sort of classic vibe.
Basses: Gibson lpb-1, Gibson dc jr tribute, Greco thunderbird, Danelectro dc, Ibanez blazer.  Amps: genz benz shuttle 6.0, EA CXL110, EA CXL112, Spark 40.  Guitars: Danelectro 59XT, rebuilt cheap LP copy

Could be, but no one else has reduced the price and the website still shows it as a current model. Probably just an oiverstock sale.

Bass arrived...set up well after the truss rod was tightened...

I don't see what the fuss about the three point bridge is.  It's just fine.  Fit and finish are just fine.

So far very happy. Hope it roars.

Classic red.  It's an EBO, basically. I always only liked the red.

If I were you, I would be very pleased to have gotten such a good deal.  I also agree red is the best color for that, although some of the others were not bad, either.

Looks like the clearance ones are gone.
I'm supposed to get my first ever significant bonus in May ... if they were still on blowout then I doubt I could resist.
It may not be calling me as a must-have-right-now bass, but if I had a spare $700 in the bank .........

Tried it at rehearsal.

Sound is darker than my 2013EB...more fundamental, and somehow "less complex".

I liked it...will sound real good on a lot of the "rootsier" stuff that we do.

FWIW, I see several of these listed as "brand new" on Reverb by AMS for $799...

After trying out a couple of them in person I'm not in the market for LP DC Jr. but they certainly have their appeal, especially at the discount prices that we've seen lately.
