Gibson Thunderbird laminate Thickness
« on: February 21, 2009, 11:32:41 AM »
Does ANYBODY know the thickness of the 9 ply Walnut and Mahogany laminates on a 1960's Gibson thunderbird bass?? Thinking about making a Korina version sometime soon. Thanks!

I'm not aware that their thickness changed over the decades, irrespective whether sixties, Bicentennial or post-1987.

Thanks, but I meant, does anybody know the thickness of the 4 Walnut strips and the 5 individual Mahogany strips??? I'd like to know the official specs to get wood planed to those specs. I don't even know if anyone "Officially" knows this data. Thanks!
