SG Gals Contest
« on: September 15, 2009, 03:43:35 AM »
No. I'm not advocating that Fräuleon Rommel should participate, but couldn't they have at least overdubbed the mess of a distuned A power chord she is "playing"? Unless it is on purpose, but does Gibson have that much humor?  ??? Frankly embarrassing if you ask me.

Loes lended her Epi Sg to her sister, but she can ask it back:)

But what do we have to think of this:

"Sure, you may have your pride to lose but there's an SG at stake!"

I don't know what's worse - the actual concept of the contest, the out of tune chord, or the fact that there's a F****r amp in the background of a Gibson ad. What a bunch of weenies! Can't they relieve Henry J. of his command like in "The Caine Mutiny"?

When I was watching that, I couldn't help but think it would've been cool if, after Jane played that flacid, withering chord, the camera panned left- bringing Liz Bugkingham from Electric Wizard into frame...

...at which point Liz strikes a monster doom metal power chord thru a wall of amps, which in turn launches Jane Wiedlin 20-30 feet across the stage.  Then, a girlfight breaks out - lots of hair flipping/pulling...

I think I missed my calling in marketing.  ;)

If this had involved girls and basses I'd be there, but guitar just ain't my thing......not even a little.  ;)

That was really some inspired playing.

WTF? Another long-past-prime endorser?

Who's next? They bought Baldwin Pianos a few years back, how about Fats Domino as an endorser? After all, that new fangled rock 'n' roll is catching on with those youngsters.

I think Henry might be looking for a more wholesome image.  ;)

Consider yourself lucky. Unless you like hearing one out of tune chord strummed.

LOL! Always the gadfly.

Hey~ You just taught me a new word. Thanks

Aw c'mon~ Let it fly! lol

And for those who don't know what roo means:

I Wanna Roo You (Scottish Derivative)
~Van the Man Morrison

Twenty-third of December

Covered in snow

You in the kitchen

With the lights way down low

I'm in the parlor playing my old guitar

Speaking to you, darling, to find out how you are

I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you

I wanna woo you, woo you tonight

I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you

I wanna woo you, woo you tonight

Come to me softly

Come to me quiet

Know what I'm after

I'm gonna try it

Snowstorm's on the way and we'll be stranded for a week

Come over to the window, look outside take a peek

I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you

I wanna woo you, woo you tonight

I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you

I wanna woo you, woo you tonight

You know I am lonely

And in need of your company

Oh, let your love light shine on down on me

And we can just sit here

Look at the fire

Watch the flames leaping higher and higher

Tea on the stove food in the pan

Ain't going nowhere and we don't have many plans

I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you

I wanna woo you, woo you tonight

I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you

I wanna woo you, woo you tonight

And you know I am lonely

I been in need of your company

Let your love shine on down on me

I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you

I wanna woo you, woo you tonight

I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you

I wanna woo you, woo you tonight

Woo you tonight, pretty baby

Woo you tonight, little darling

Woo you tonight, alright

Woo you tonigh
