An introduction post
« on: September 05, 2018, 12:20:32 PM »
My humble regards to good people of this forum, holding the Fort Of Bass...

I signed up for this forum months ago and enjoyed reading various (mostly Gibson-related) threads but never took time to post anything myself. Now, that I'm in the position where I'll be looking for advice - as well as for an item or two - I figured that it would be appropriate that I stop by and introduce myself. Some of you may know me from TB, but for those who don't...

Started playing bass in '79, on an Italian Gherson Jazz Bass copy with a warped neck and an H/H combo. Went through a gazillion basses, amps and so forth over the course of the next two decades, then quit cold turkey.

One of my twin sons decided to start playing bass - after several years of playing trombone - and pretty much dragged me into playing again. Before one could say "Free", the stuff started piling up...basses, guitars, keyboard, portastudio...

I've fallen in love with a severely molested '69 EB-0 and she is my # 1 to the point where I'm serious when I say that she's getting buried with me. Other family members include a '70 EB-0L and a '13 EB fiver. A couple of imports of somewhat lesser importance are hanging out here as well.

That's what I've got for now. Happy to be here.

Thank you.

If you can walk me through the process needed to re-size the pictures - which are obnoxiously large in their current form - so I don't hog the bandwidth, it would be appreciated and I'd be happy to post a couple...

Welcome! If you're using a PC, one way to resize a picture is to simply open it in MS Paint where the resize function is easily reached. If you choose a photo host service like Imgur you can upload and resize there as well, then use the link option here (photo button in the editor tools menu's bottom left).

Welcome, I've seen your name in my occasional visits to TB.

If you use Imgur, you won't need to resize anything, just go to your uploaded image there, copy the BB Code link in the right hand panel and paste it directly into your post here.

Thank you.

That's pretty much what I thought would be the case, given the forum's format.

To be continued....

Welcome. You've come to the right place, especially for Gibson info.
