Looking good and 995$ BIN seems reasonable to me.

That is reasonable. I wouldn't say there were only prototypes and demos, IIRC it was just a very limited run, but still pretty rare.

I vaguely remember these being discussed before but I can't recall the details...?

Made from woods approved by "The Rainforst Alliance".  Of course, you may still get raided over the woods you use on everything else... :-X

I think Uwe got hold of one a few years ago. IIRC it was a five string so maybe there will be a four string heading towards Ze Reich soon?

He might have to fight gearHed for it.

Ha ha! No, my budget is tapped, and I've recently escaped the cover band scene, so no more free money.

I think this one has been on and off eBay for a while now, and they were originally asking over $2K. Seems like a pretty good deal now. AND - just checked completed listings - same seller. Originally asking $2495.  :o

You can chop it up. That why it's called Chechenslovakia.

 :rimshot:

Ouch, that was in very poor taste, even for my submarinish standards.

Wouldn't that be a case of dumbwood reviewing smartwood?

Modulus uses (or at least used to use) chechen for some of their graphite-necked basses. I played one for a little while. Seemed to add a little more organic vibe versus the synthetic fingerboard models.

Says the man who pans Anne Erickson in his sig line.

Okay, how about deadwood reviewing smartwood? Better?
