Title: recorded some promo on my 4003S
Post by: gearHed289 on March 13, 2013, 08:11:21 AM
All covers. All good classic rock.  ;D Alice in Chains is killer. Kansas is cool too. All pianos played on MIDI guitar (Roland pickup on an Ibanez).

Like these!  You guys are tight, and the bass sounds great.  Wish my band did some Lizzy.

Was the hammond sound on Wayward Son guitar synth too?

Very nice!  Love all of those covers.  We strive to be as tight and clean.  You guys make it sound easy.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, the Hammond on the recording is guitar, though live, I hit the chord at the transition from intro to the piano/vocal part so he can switch patches, and also at the very end of the song. Between him on the guitar synth, and me with MIDI bass pedals and a keyboard, we fill things in a lot. Singer plays guitar on a few songs too which helps. Plus we all sing. Drummer does AC/DC, I do Lizzy.

We did two nights in a row at HOB in January. Got the gigs at the last minute as an opener for Super Diamond, which is a touring Neil Diamond tribute. Went great!

Our guitarist is an absolute monster. We've known each other for over 25 years, but this is the first band we've been in together. Classic Rock magazine rated him something like #31 on their list of "100 wildest lead guitarists". He was a big Ibanez endorsing guy back in the 90s. Went to Germany, South America, etc doing clinics and stuff. Laney amps endorsement too.
