Are we ready for spring yet?
« on: May 12, 2010, 03:55:47 PM »
Two inches of snow overnight here in Northern Colorado @5,000 feet.  High today about 45.

Here's a photo from Denver - a gent shaking the limbs of a 100-year-old tree to get snow off the leaves.  With the branches pretty well leafed out, the branches loaded down quite a bit - but most of it melted off by mid-morning.

We should be back in the high 60's by Friday.

I live in Michigan, I get all four seasons. Quite often all in one week :o It hits the sunny 80s one day, low 30s with frost the next, then you get three or four days of rain and wind . WTF , the plants are almost as confused as I am ???

Yeah same here, you need all three coats out, because you never know what to expect, then we just go into 90 degree heat.

Yes, I have a closet full of coats....one day it's a light jacket, the next a heavy coat, next a raincoat.

But hopefully we've finished the snows for this spring.

We've had a very cool and mild spring - this follows a record breaking low winter temps.  Our winter was very cold and plants that are never bothered by our typical frosts and freezes got killed off last winter.  Now if it will just freaking rain!

We had a few freak hot days in late April here, but now the weather is way too cold for spring.

I'm very curious to see how the volcano in Iceland, with all of the ash that it is spewing into the atmosphere, will affect global temperatures.  Not to mention the tons of CO2 it's pumping out - probably offsets all of my CFL light bulbs ;)
