Him not being here is pretty much like Australia devoid of cane toads. It just doesn't feel right.

Thanks guys for your well wishes!

When the wedding car picked me up before we went to get my bride from her sister's house the driver had Led Zeppelin I blaring loud from the stereo.  I was impressed.

We've just returned from a week in a beachfront villa on Koh Samui in Thailand

Married life seems no different from our past 5 years together, other than me needing to get used to playing bass with a ring on my left hand, and the sick looking credit card statement.
Cheers

Mark, I admire your dedication to the whole ring thing. I gave up after a 4 week trial before we got married. I still have no rings on any of my fingers. Luckily I have a very bass friendly wife.

I have a bass friendly wife too, but I'm keen to try and get used to the wedding ring.  I haven't even worn a watch since mobile phones were invented, so playing with a ring on my finger is a little disconcerting.

Some notice it, some don't. I never notice it while playing but others are bothered by a ring.

Takes a couple of weeks and then it feels weird if you don't wear one. The human psyche is remarkable in that it even adjusts to the severest forms of captivity.  ;) Of course, the extra weight enhances sustain too and the ring can - with a little practice - be used for tasteful slide playing. There lurks a Johnny Winter in all of us.

I've never been keen on having metallic objects hanging off of me. 4 weeks was enough of an annoyance to convince me that it just wasn't going to work.   Even if I didnt play an instrument I really dont like watches , rings , necklaces at all.

After many years it grows into your finger like barbwire in the bark of an old tree, at that point it can't ding your bass! I'm lucky to have a wife that has put up with my GAS for 32 years! ;) ;)

I've never had the finance for true GAS; I'm genetically disposed that way though... "my precious" has leveled with the skin, but is removable... feels truly wierd when it's not there...

I have no problem with rings, earrings or necklaces but no watches for me, thank you. Especially those with metallic bracelets. Its like playing bass and weightlifting at the same time.
Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.
