The fretboard looks really dry on this thing. If you compare the photo of Paul holding his, versus the repro, it looks like a different species of wood?

Sorta ironic that Paul thought nothing of sticking a Red Rose Speedway decal on his guitar as well. He didn't baby his instruments, so this reproduction seems a little at odds with the core ethos of the guy.

I have seen both McCartney's old Texan and one of the 40 replicas that was given to him side by side, and he showed me how to tell which is which: the tort guard is the only detail they couldn't replicate faithfully.
