Pretty sure Paul Gray is only number 3 because he's recently dead.

Perhaps we could vote on our own top artists...?

please, no more polls. they are meaningless and easy filler material for a magazine. i fear a poll here would be overloaded with gibson players of questionable import. my 2 cents. :P

This response: The top five bassists of all time are obvious. Wes Claypool (primus), Ryan Martinie(mudvayne), Flea (red Hot Chilli Peppers), John Bottom (led Zeppelin), and the last is in the air.

John Bottom (Led Zeppelin) must have been the original bass player.

Probably the best name for a bassist! :P

The last one is only "in the air" because he can't remember a wrong variation of the name of Nickelback's bass player
