@Droombolus:

Ruff compaired to normal rounds, IMO of course.
I also remember them being very stiff. Please let
me reiterate though, the sound is a payoff of sorts
and they may not be as physically hard to deal
with for you as they were for me.

They don't sound more "acoustic' than any other string to me, maybe clearer and zingier...
I am under the impression that they are not bronze and it's the copper coating that
makes them "red" and gives them the texture of razor wire.

I've used those a couple of times in the past. Bright, piano like clarity.
These strings sound like Entwistle, and what is more, what I always thought
Rotosounds should sound like. Did I mention piano?

Now, the bad news...they will literally chew your fingers and frets to shreds!
No exaggeration whatsoever! My fingers would bleed (and turn green!) as these
strings are beyond ruff. Did I mention piano....wire?!?

Maybe you'll have better luck and tougher digits ;D

Yeah, I kinda can't handle Snake's vocals anymore. Anyone, if you want to check out their most "un-metal" album, get yourself a copy of Angel Rat. Cool stuff, produced by Terry Brown, who did all the classic Rush records. Blacky left before it was released...

Yeah, that one's my fav next to Outer Limits.

Doesn't he use both a guitar and a bass head? Seems to me I read that somewhere.

That's what I always thought, of course, He usually uses Hiwatts which are designed for use with both guitar and bass.

I've had really good luck with those new, inexpensive ACOUSTIC amps. I have the B600H and the B100 combo
that I use when it's not practical to haul around a 100lb tube head. Both have served me well for a couple years
now with no problems whatsoever and they sound really good, especially for what I paid for them.

The contouring makes it look a little like a Hamer Monaco.

Not as slinky as TI's but GHS Precision Flats are really low tension...much cheaper, too.
I have a set on my P bass and they're pretty comfortable and sound nice and thumpy.
