I'm away for a couple days
« on: March 20, 2008, 09:35:39 AM »

So, I'm on my way out for a short road trip to scenic Sequim (S'kwim) Washington, that's out on the Olympic Pennisula for all you geography buffs. The Nasty Habits have a nice two night stint in a nice place (no chicken wire!) called The Oasis. We've never played there, it should be an interesting trip,
here's our flyer for the show

My Black and Purple '77's 'Birds are making the trip this time, see you guys!  ;D

Good luck. If you're well received in a smaller town that doesn't have much live music, it's a real chance to build a loyal following.

Congrats and enjoy

It reminds me of that Patrick Sweazy movie where the drag queens parade through rural America??

I can just envisage the mayor handing Mark the keys to the city!

Have  fun Mark!  (A little known fact for you Northwest weather buffs - Sequim has the LOWEST rainfall in Washington State as it lies in a "rain shadow" just west of the Olympic mountains.  )   :o

My ass is pleasantly kicked.......had a great time, worked real hard both nights and the band played good on Friday, almost perfect on Saturday. The bar owner was really a nice guy, we made him lots of money and he paid us well, $2250.00 for two nights. I'm not complaining! It was a real nice clean bar with a very big stage, jeez I even had space to spazz around, can't beat that  ;)
When we got back to the hotel in Pt Angeles Saturday night we were having a problem finding a spot near the door to unload our guitars, our guitarist Rachael noticed a rather nice Lexus SUV that had been deliberately parked into 2 spaces and starts going off about it....well I stop the car at the door, and we get the guitars into the lobby. I *think* she's gonna stay with them while I go park my car, oh no!
I come arond the other side the lot and catch her in my headlights with her skirt hiked up taking a pee on the Lexus' front wheel!..........Queens, you can't take them anywhere!.........The rest of the band had a pretty good laugh at our obligatory post show hotel room party.

Here's our setlist for the weekend.......and while Dave's right about Sequim's weather.......it rained on us mercilessly Sunday when we packed the rest of gear. We're back at it this Tuesday the 25th here in Seattle.

Nice report.  I agree with the cool song list.  "20th Century Boy" is a nice touch.  Not many bands do that.  There's a new song out that made me think of your band.  "Drama Queen" by The Switches.
