Buy? Pass?

Bunny Brunel sig EUB on eBay, currently $1,500. New ones are $4,500. It's a really good model and it sounds like a real upright, when most others sound just like a fretless bass. And a D block... and they sound great bowed.
But I don't particularly need one (I have a good "real" upright) or have too much extra cash lying around, but at that price... I just don't know what to do. What do you think? Buy? Pass? Is it a good deal?

That would be hard to pass up, especially if you ever play any gigs where an upright would fit the material better than a bass guitar and don't want to haul the real thing. Just my 2 cents. Very nice bass!

I immediately wanted to know what was with the hair and glasses on that dude. I realised he was some sort of European, and it all made sense.

The price seems right. I think it would be a "buy" scenario if you had use for it in a set mixed with bass guitar. If I were playing a full set with an upright Id rather lug the full acoustic around but if it were just a song or two I needed one for this would be ideal.
And for studio use I don't think I could ever see myself using one.

I'm almost tempted myself, but I'm not playing enough to justify it since my band went into hiatus.
I really miss the King white plywood bass I sold in '97...would love to have another upright or semi-upright.
