The Bass Zone / Re: Things cocky bassists say

Always played with a pick, until I - all of a sudden, and very surprising - got arthritis in my thumb 35 years ago. Couldn't hold a pick any more. Just dropped it! This was in the middle of a tour of West Sweden, and Norway. So I started using my fingers. The shift was pretty easy.
Need is the mother of invention. You do what you have to do.

Really nice music to keep you company a quiet evening. I love Hank William's tunes. Bet I could get drunk to them tunes without even trying!

I kinda dig the guy, Wings of Pegasus, analyses. Think he's cool. A true fan with lots of love for music, and a lot of knowledge. As we all...

Hope you haven't seen this yet. Not any real news for anyone with deep interest, but interesting anyway!

Hey, Scott! Do you have any idea if the 760's are for sale somewhere?

Bass Amps & Effects / Re: My first “Real” bass amp, a history.

I don't know how much my 2x15" cabinet weighted. But it was heavy. Too heavy for me, though it of course didn't seem that way 40 years ago... So I gave it to my son, who's still just 37 years of age. At the same time I gave him my Ampeg V-4. I still have my Fender Dual Showman and two 1x15" cabinets. That's about what I manage to handle, these days.
I'm fully satisfied, and my son is glad. What more can one ask for?

Thank you guys! Now I realize I've listened to Babbitt earlier on. Like the Marvin Gaye tune Inner city blues from the What's going on album. I like his style. More kind of melodic boogaloo than funk, at least in my book. And as I check further, I understand he's as well the guy on several early Del Shannon hits! Thanks again!

s doing, that I'm completely knocked out... My, my.. Anyone's in the know?

Now, that is a true beauty! It's really hard to be beaten by any other piece. Nice, but maybe even too nice to take to a smoked-in pub with empty glasses for a hard rock gig. But maybe for a small saloon? With a spinet doing it's grooves?

Really beautiful! I'm impressed by your handcraft, Rob. Are you gonna let us listen to her sing, too?

Gotta admit the Bird was quite neck heavy. Will try, and relocate the strap button to the neck plate. The sound was the T-bird I wanted, and got. Nice bass! Glad I finally got one!

Thanks, Rob! And, yep, David: I'll try her out tonight. Though I'll also bring my T-bird pupped Ripper, as this here new mother is a heavy one. Around 4 kilos. Sometimes I think about Danelctro's single cut bass. Really good looking, nice sound. And light, it seems...
