I sure like the tone. Should appeal to Gibson fans and more.

If the Florence guitar line prices are any indication, these should be in the $1500 range, maybe a little more. Not out of line for a small company.

Not crazy about the 4 in line headstock , but it certainly pushes a bunch of my buttons.

I'm happy with my Jr for now though.

Nice to see a shortscale bass with accompanying advertising that doesn't lean straight into talk of "an ideal bass for beginners, children and players with small hands".

This bass looks really good. It is a shame they didn't copy the 3+3 headstock shape of the guitars. Straight string pull and it would potentially balance better. A Mustang neck on a Melody Maker neck is risking dive.

I'm intrigued by the circuitry in this. What I know capacitors do versus what they are claiming they do.

It's typical that people complain the new Epiphone Newport has a 2x2 headstock instead of the 4 in line. And now with the new Sandberg it is the other way around.  :mrgreen

I'd rather have the 4 inline, especially if it's not tilted back.

Now that Gibson has discontinued the Jr I'm quite happy to see this pop up. It's nice to see a good shortscale with a single pickup in the sweet spot. There's a lot to be said for two knob simplicity. This should be a great sounding bass.
And being a set neck shortscale is a bonus. I've come to love a 2+2 headstock , but the 4 in line is not a deal breaker.

Nice review here. No idea who the guy is.

The body shape reminds me of the Rickenbacker 2030

They say it has a retro Gibson-like flavor to it and recalls elements of the EB-2 and Ripper.  To me all that is extremely appealing.
