« on: May 23, 2008, 08:56:05 PM »
2 single coil pickups in a standard HB mount arrived today
Planning on putting a single pickup at the neck
Probably put it in the Acoustic F hole bass
Really nicely made pickups and the magnets are interchangeable,he includes Alnico II , III and V and Ceramic magnets

Thanks

The Vintage Vibe Charlie Christians are $75 each or $125 for a pair
Cheaper than the Lollars
The nice thing about the Vintage Vibe is they fit the standard HB size so pickup surround choices are endless

Thanks

Robert

PS Still waiting on the pickups, shipping to me in Japan takes about a week

Pickups should be arriving shortly
I havent decided which bass
Was talking to Lollar about Charlie Christian pickups but he wanted $300 each

Looking forward to trying them out

Thanks

I ordered 2 of these pickups
http://www.pbase.com/rvl/hb_pickups
These are from Vintage Vibe Guitars
He will custom wind them for bass

Thanks

Thanks for the ideas guys.  I'm gonna go with the TV Jones.  I just don't want to rout or fill in a current rout at this stage.  I can alway change it later, right?  I was going for a Guild restore but this isn't a bass body to begin with and I don't want to mess up the routs.

It's gonna be 30" scale.  And I liked the Woody bass a lot and my current favorite non-Gibson is my Gretsch Thunder Jet with those kicking TV pups.

I would say a Samick
Samick routes under the bridge and the bridge has very high saddles

I have a Samick EB-2 and the photos are exactly the same bridge

Thanks

My neighbor cleans his every month
He uses his wood stove everyday and burns carpenter scraps and torn down house scraps

I havent got a wood stove yet.....but will be getting one......my heating costs are $400/month and thats only with 4 rooms heated and the rest unheated

Thanks
