« on: August 30, 2011, 10:38:43 AM »
With luck, will be published late this year, early 2012, and hopefully by Hal Leonard/Backbeat:

Welcome Paul! Great to have you here. Best of luck with the book, I know it's going to be a must-have.

Hey Paul, I do have a question. Is that my former 4004 on the cover?

DAVE! There you are! Long time no hear! No, actually, that one belongs to someone else and his is featured in the book as it is in stock condition. The one I bought from you received a volume/volume/tone mod back in 2004. Looks pretty much the same except the little microswitch has been replaced by a third knob. Still have it among the 21 in my "Rickenbacker National Forest."

Hey Paul, welcome to the Pit... I mean LBO!  ;) Hal Leonard - that would be great. I might need at least 2 copies - makes a great gift!

Are you still looking for photos of any particular models, or are you set?

So, The LBO used to be the DudePit? I wondered where that went. Glad to be back. I hang mostly at the Rickenbacker Resource Forum, and have posted on the Beat Gear Cavern and RIC company forum as well.

No, he was joking, we're definitely not the Pit.

Most of the original members here knew each other from the Gibson forum at the Pit. Not long before the Pit went down for the third time, Uwe and I decided to start a forum so we'd all have a place to meet. That's why there's more Gibson activity here.

Isn't that Denver Pyle in your avatar?

Denver Pyle as Briscoe Darling. At least until I decide to change it again.  :)

Gawd, it's awfully quiet around here, so I'll give you an update. Looks like I will have to resolve a software compatibility issue with the Hal Leonard/Backbeat folks before I can go much further on the book. Bassically (!) my page-making program will not translate into what they use for publishing, so I'll have to rebuild what I have done into their program. It shouldn't be difficult, just time consuming. The design work is already done, so it's just a matter of placing the text and photos into new templates, etc. Still looking at a 2012 publishing date, so stay tuned to this network!

Having seen a couple of sample pages, I can assure you it's worth the wait.
