A Mo$t unexpected birthday pre$ent...
« on: August 29, 2008, 08:11:51 PM »
Well....................my wife totally shocked me this year.......she bought this from a link I sent back in December 07...........been sitting on it since

Quick thoughts:

1) Setup very low..but just uber-right
2) Uber-funky bass....great for thumb/pop stuff...
3) Thunderbird-Lite or Diet-Thunderbird or Thunderbird "sans calories"
4) Dark blue to light blue finish sharper in person
5) Fits in the back of my civic :)
6) 'McLovin' the chrome on this one.

She deserves you not falling asleep for at least a year now!!!

Great present & great wife. Now you can explain to her what a walnut tone plate is!

The Moneys were great basses sound- and ergonomic-wise. Kind of the Gibson IV of this millenium, except much nicer looking. Too bad they're deleted now, but you can't say that Gibson did not try something new with them.

Yeah, the fact that Musician's Friend still has some has me tempted even though I know I won't.

Everyone -

Thanks for all of the kind wishes and words - for me and my wife!!!  She was so excited!

Someone was wondering what the bass in the middle is - that's a Peavey Randy Jackson RJIV....I've had that new since 1990.

More pics of it:
