(Although I have to wonder, why does Adam Clayton want 24 frets!)

Same reason he wants a Buzzard headstock?

Here's another cheapo cousin... an old Eko bass from ebay:
Basses: Gibson lpb-1, Gibson dc jr tribute, Greco thunderbird, Danelectro dc, Ibanez blazer.  Amps: genz benz shuttle 6.0, EA CXL110, EA CXL112, Spark 40.  Guitars: Danelectro 59XT, rebuilt cheap LP copy

Armenian bass on eBay:

The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

Dayum Dave!
I looked at that picture and thought "Armenia isn't a bastion of musical instruments" and felt. . .a little . . . .well dirty for the thought.
Then I read your post and choked on a diet pepsi  8)

The Armenian guitar industry is apparently so bad it doesn't even rate a mention on Cheesy Guitars.

I've been messing with this on and off for a while, it's definitely NR influenced.  It won't have that exact headstock if it ever gets finished and the P/G needs Slimfast.

If you are into 6 string Bass VI style basses you could look out for a Teisco TB-64.
Paul Rhoney, a luthier from California makes pretty neat TB-64 style replicas. He's also a very nice guy.

Here's the original:

And here's a Rhoney one:

You mean like this?

"A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any other invention with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila."
