Title: I'm now a RIC owner!
Post by: drummer5359 on March 01, 2015, 06:16:36 PM
I ordered this 4003W this past summer and it came in this week. It is my first Rickenbacker and I'm loving the feel and the sound.

I now have a second Rickenbacker on order, this time a 4003SW.

Love that walnut. I'll love the S version even more.

Thanks everybody!

I got it last Friday and I've been playing the crap out of it since. My Fenders and Music Man are getting jealous. I played it a bit at an acoustic gig which was fun.

I also let the bass players in two bands that I play drums in use it. One doesn't understand the allure, the other one is figuring out what to sell to buy one himself.

Wow, you must have strummed those strings pretty hard to cut through without an amp!

That's about the most perfect explanation I've seen of what happens to all of us when we see and play the one.

Nice.

The guitars are acoustic electric and I play hand percussion, I switch to bass for a few songs that need it. I've tried out ACBs, but I've yet to find one that I like to play.

Here is a shot of the 4003W at home with my Ampeg.

Nice!  I've always wanted a Ric bass.  Walnut is unique.  Now that the 4003s is available, I'm definitely going to try to get one after playing a 4003 and a 4003s side by side.  Although if a 4001c64 popped up, I might be tempted.
