Nice comparison. Both great sounds but really quite different. The Tbird is beautifully raw and organic sounding with a great growly edge to it. The FB is more polite and rounder sounding than the TB but still with that nice darkness to its tone. Tighter sounding as well.

Thanks :) Nothing sounds like a NR II!  For a while I was leaving them home and using my Model G powered NR "fenderbird".  Now I bring both the Fenderbird one of my NRs. Here is the Fenderbird for comparison.

What a great song! From the dim recesses of my mind I can remember playing that when it was new along with a few other Mott The Hoople tunes like Rock N Roll Queen. Your band looks like it would be a blast to play in. I don't know if it was the mix but that bass doesn't sound as strong as the Thunderbird you played in the first video. Great stuff! Your guitar player has a great sound too, sounds like a pegged V4 although I'm sure you said it wasn't.
