Well they're (orcas and sperm whales, not talking about the plancton munchers) carnivores alright, nothing cuddly about them. I always thought that this whole whale loving thing is getting carried away. Yes, preserve them as a species (not that orcas are in any way endangered), yes, marvel at their beauty, yes, don't keep them in swimming basins as a kiddie attraction, but, no, don't ever think they are not carnivores. They swallow live creatures just like sharks do. And sometimes they even hunt the odd sperm whale to death.

Uwe, you're right. But your countrymen have gone crazy about Flocke the polar bear cub. Wait until she grows up.

Yes, and before there was Knuth, the Berlin polar bear, who's meanwhile adolescent and overweight.

I think I'd prefer swimming with an open wound in a basin full of hungry orcas to a stint with an adult polar bear.

You can't fool nature. I remember how we had German shepherd pups in Africa which had been taken away from her mother - she just had too many of them. So we raised a handful per bottle and it actually worked. They got his baby food stuff but one day my mom mixed the milk with some fresh beef blood she had somehow obtained from a local butcher. The pups went nuts about it and drank like they had never done before.

Male sperm whales ejaculate bucketloads of it. You'd be jealeous. And female sperm whales are notorious for swallowing seamen.

Oh so you want to get into oral sex and African mouth breeders?
Quote
Mouth breeder, mother cares for the eggs (till 60). The mother lays the egg and takes them in her mouth, then the male presents his egg-dots on his fin, the female thinks, it are eggs, too, wants to take them too, and the male can fertilize the eggs, (squirting sperm in the females mouth). After 3 weeks the mother will let the fries go, and if there are enough places to hide probably many will grow up.

Truth is always stranger than fiction.
