    Honestly I am unsure. Gene states that it us a recreation of the original pickup in his EB0 just what that means I'm not sure lol. Once I get it home I'll take it apart for a look see.

   I have the exact bass. I bought it earlier this year for somewhere between 500-600 with ohsc. Its heavy for sure, the tone is polite and articulate, I particularly like the neck.

  I resisted as long as I could.  Today was Gibson day at the House of Guitars, I made a silly video to help promote the occasion,  I had no intention of buying this bass when I woke up this morning. Bruce one of the owners of the HOG offered me the bass for a price I couldn't refuse. I'll do a proper video when I get it home (it's on layaway) at any rate this is good for a larf.

   I notice the case says video prop!!!!! What videoand isthat yhe reason the pickups are cranked down? I was looking at yhis myself but it looked a little suspect,  for what they were asking it should have been shipped in playable condition.  I hope that any issues are easy fixes.

  Mine suffered from the same bubbling finish around the tuners. It's definitely due to the finish not being properly cured before assembly.

One of the hazards of working at the House of Guitars is seeing stuff before anyone else. Total impulse buy and I'm glad I did. I've been sitting on this for several weeks waiting for the official release.

   The contemporary Gibson Nonreverse Thunderbird I put the Probuckers in I actually moved the neck pickup to the 60s position so it's not really a apples to apples comparison.
