RIP Clive Burr
« on: March 13, 2013, 07:56:13 AM »
Former Iron Maiden drummer passes away.

He played drums on the first three Iron Maiden albums.
I've always preferred his style of drumming over Nicko Mc Brain's drumming.

He had MS, right? Poor guy.

I preferred his - very lively - drumming too, not that Iron Maiden ever appealed much to me, their songwrting is too samey. He was in the drumming department to Iron Maiden what Cliff Williams was in bass playing to early Metallica. Nicko, a lovely guy and reliable drummer, is Jason Newsted in those terms.

I know, I always get that wrong, you know who I mean, the guy with the Ric, the flared jeans, a mudbucker and bad luck with busses.

Wow... rip
only saw them really early - Den Stratton was still in the lineup... (used to see him in a band called RDB pre Maiden)
