...I thought I'd post it anyway, sorry if it's old news.

Nice how he put a pic of Curt (DC10bass) in the description ;)
It's kinda cool, I likes it!
-
Are you going to bid Mark ? I might take a stab at it.
-
You'll have to revise your flock photo if you get it Scott. Looks like a nice project.
-
Go for it Scott!
I have a BaCH NR and Fenderbird in the near future, so ................. ;D
-
That looks like a Greco. The pickups and bird on the guard are correct for one. The finish on the body looks thinner than my 70's II, but the wood under it looks exact, including color. I won't bid Scott, but if I were I'd have no problem paying modded Greco prices for it. The only issue could be someone who bids as if its got Gibson pickups in it. The description makes it clear it doesn't, but you know eBay users... That Badass makes it the perfect Scottybird!
If I wasn't going to try for another BachBird I'd be sorely tempted, but I'm going to live vicariously through whomever of you decides to get this.
-
It does look like a Greco except for the PG, the 'Bird is in a way different position than mine.....
and while it may just be in better shape than mine the pups have much more shine like they're a chrome finish instead of nickel.

I have been on a binge of late, if someone really wants this I will hold back. I do not want to drive the price up on someone here. If no one wants it I may bid.
-
I would bet the original concept of the neck - a late 60s or early 70s Jazz with the board replaced - is what is up here. The finish and decal on the face of the headstock look legit, but the board is wrong. So someone put some extra effort into this one. Looks pretty cool.
-
Why would this be desirable? It's a beat up parts bass of unknown origin, not a Gibson body, doesn't look like real mahogany, the story he was told about the neck tells me it's not a real Fender. Where's the beef?

No beef, looks like fun and those Greco puts are supposed to be killer ! Could be fun to have around the house.
-
Don't think less of me, but I wouldn't turn her out. ;)
-
It's not that I think there's anything wrong with it. It's just that with other Fenderbirds around, I don't see anything exciting about buying a pig in a poke. It's just an old frankenbass.

If it went cheap enough I'd risk it, but eBay can do strange things to bidders. I wouldn't take a chance once it got over a few hundred.

Yup, and the pups alone are worth 350-400. The rest of it..............

Now what have I done...? :P ;)

Really? Are you sure you know which pickups they are?

George if you are going to bid I have no desire to bid against you or anyone else in the forum, if I can get it cheap great if not i do not need it.
-
I'll take those shitty Orvilles or Greco pickups if you don't want them. Mike Lull may be better for you.
-

There aren't many authentic looking 60's bird repro pickups out there. Greco, Chandler, Orvilles, and now Lull (that I know of). Plus, the bird on Greco guards looks different enough that I'm sure that's a Greco (the head shape is all sharp angles). Of course, being that old you never know if someone's put something else under those covers. Crapshoot either way, but might be worth the risk if it goes cheap enough.

I should have specified, I'm not in the market so if you can get a good deal, go for it!

if i had some cash on hand i'd be on it in a heart beat. but fixin' amps comes first.

Haaa... I know, can you believe the nerve?! ;)
