Wasn't The Litter from Minnesota?

Burt Bacharach supposedly didn't like Arthur Lee's interpretation. I thought it really wasn't that different from the original, which he wrote for the soundtrack of What's New Pussycat.

My favorite version, best played LOUD:

When I first became fascinated with cars, the two I wanted most were a Morgan 3 Wheeler and a Lotus Seven America. The downside was that everyone I knew who owned a British car spent most of their spare time working on them. Even the ones that were reliable needed to be fiddled with all the time.

For me it was a Triumph GT6, then an MGA, then a Spitfire, and MGB. In my experience you need to own at least 2 British sports cars. One to drive and one to work on.

A friend of mine needing money sold me a lap steel. I couldn't resist, it is a Gibson. Learning curve has it under the bed.

But is 5/16" across the flats the correct spec?

Wow. Obviously I didn't pay much attention to them when I had them. They did get lost after all.

What is the external dimensions of the original nut, the wrench size? Would it be possible to find nuts with the correct exterior dimensions and drill and tap them for the bridge saddle screw threads?

The insert in the nuts is nylon and it is there to prevent the nuts from coming loose with vibration. They are called Nyloc nuts.

Count on a dozen for me.

I was thinking about my yellowed white '73. The only original parts on it are the carcass, bridge/tailpiece, TRC and jack plate. Everything else had to be replaced, including the truss rods. Still a wonderful bass by the way. So I'm not concerned with originality here. I'll have to source a white Plexi TRC and that could be a problem.

It's beautiful as it is, I wouldn't change a thing.

Too many basses? I didn't know that was possible!

If Levis are $50 then I can see buying $50 American-made jeans as an alternative. But I buy regular fit Wranglers, $17 at Target and Walmart. I wear each pair about once a week and they last a couple of years. No complaints.

The room that the basses are in is slated for demolition in the spring, but when the project is complete there will be more room.

My jeans are 36" length which can't be found everywhere.
