Barry Mathews hung out at the Fender Discussion Page Forum for a bit and discussed some of the research he did for the book. One of the forum members had some info he was unaware of so he come in to ask questions to further his research.
I had forgotton about the book, glad to see it's out. I'll have to pick up a copy.

For nearly 4k you would think they would give you a picture to look at.

Really considering they're uncommon you would think they would have a picture by now.

Haven't seen the book yet, but I sent out those scanned pages of a mag article with Barry Matthews to a few people here. I never knew anything about them when I got the parts to put this together. (another shameless show-off picture of my only bass.......) ;D

OK, I admit it, that does look nice... definitely in the 8) bracket...
Curiosity here... has there ever been a "slab" Jazz...?
-
You could be the first, Kenny!
-
I'll bear that in mind... ;)
-
Ordered a copy yesterday.
PS-got it yesterday, though it is interesting it's very thin. Guess there's not a whole to say about slab P basses.

Bought and read the book. It's a nice document. No real answers, but an interesting read.
I always asked myself (and others on forums) why JAE's slab P had four controls. That answer is in the book. Both split 'halves' went to another amp. No succes
