Post by: chromium on May 07, 2008, 09:24:32 AM
Somebody told me that these amps sound pretty sweet!   :)

If you are looking for one (or even if you weren't until now  ;D ), that's not a bad price...

I have the Mk3, and besides some technical problems I had, it sounds great!!! really like my '64 Vox AC50, bit of course more powerfull. She sounds big, sweet and nice and it can be overdriven very good too!

Rob/basvarken has a PTP Mk 1. and he has some problems too. We didn't have time for an A/B test yet.

I believe there are more Orange users here.

My Mk3 has been solid since ~2003 - not a single problem so far (knocking on wood).  I still even have the factory Orange-branded 6550s in it.  I'm afraid to mess around with it, because I like the sound of it so much!  I still keep a spare in case it ever goes south on me, though.

Maybe it would even sound better with different tubes?  Wish I knew how to bias it, etc... so I could experiment without having to take it to a shop everytime.  I don't touch the high-voltage stuff.
