Here she is. No affiliation, just a heads-up. Tons of hi-res photos.

This bass is a time capsule. Maybe it should be in a museum.

BTW I can confirm the weight reading. These things weigh less than a violin bass. I don't know how this is possible but mine ('64) is the same weight as this one.

I'm not usually too interested in Hofners, but that thing is super cool! I'd love to have that as my resident flatwound bass.

WOW, that Yammie looks real nice, still a little pricey IMHO (the fretless is rare, but not a desirable thing to me).

Love the Ric-ish binding.

Sold for $2,225.

Isn't that quite a bit more than other Senators have sold for?

Sorry to highjack the thread!  :-[  The Yammie is very rare. I bought a fretted one back in 2003 or so and have only seen two offered since, one in really bad shape. The fretless one is in beautiful shape, thus the price.

Totally - I just don't care for the fretlessness. ... or things being in mint condition.  Didn't mean that it's a crazy price, just that it's not one I'd be willing to pay.

It is, but none was nearly as nice.

Note how a Yamaha from a similar time and similar era went for so much less money
That was one of their nicest models, introduced in late 1968. This example is in exceptionally good shape. Some of you know my long-time admiration of early Yamaha basses.
