"IIRC this was a present to Steve from his wife or girlfriend, she had gotten Tom to sign it and present it to him."
That's what I recall as well when I first went online back then & I was looking for Tbird Info this Bass was one of the first that I found,

I think Steve Barr owned this one at one time but I think Steve called it Seafoam Green back then,

Everything Baz says is true, I'm sitting here right now with a 64 II hanging around my neck w/ a rather Fugly HS repair & it's a GREAT Bass! Very light, pretty much stays in tune & has a nice thin neck & very resonate body much more so then my ’77, the other ’64 I have the neck is just a tad wider and was turned into a IV for some reason I like the single pickup more I even caught myself turning down the bridge pup, that one that just sold was very temping even at 2K, I one time bid on a ’64 II that belonged to Steven Stills & while clean it’s hardware was removed & it needed a HS repair I stopped bidding at $1000 I think it went for $2000, I would have bid more but I contacted 3 guys about getting it fixed & it closed before I heard back from them I think Mike Dolan said it would have been a $125 HS repair,

Orville the “Helicator” has a number of vids on YT, I’m real conflicted about this, I think because I just can’t ever imagine stuffing one of my pets, I mean did the guy run up to his poor run-over Cat & see him flattened out like that & think “My how Aerodynamic!” at least he didn’t arm Orville w/ rockets I hope DARPA doesn’t see this they’ll have all kinds of dead pets lined up for wind tunnel testing at Langley

My '77 & '68 were at a Drummer friend house in CA for just over 2 years now I didn't want him to go through the hassle of packing/shipping them so I waited till they could be picked up now I’m getting reacquainted with them, I forgot just how chunky the NR ’68 neck is also the ’77 pickups don’t sound as “Anemic” as I remember them volume wise & the neck is great, I do need to find a “Gibson” decal & some screws for the NR’s TRC,
