RED '98 4003 in "reverse trim" (chrome/white instead of the standard RED/BT) in Japan.

Seems like there's some color bleed into the binding. Like Midnight Blue did until RIC changed the formula. Wait... could that be the reason RIC opted for BT as standard on Red and Midnight Blue in those years?

Actually it's nicer than bright white binding, the red color bleed gives it an aged look.

As it turns out now, there is a way to supersize an LP body without messing up the classic shape...

Anyway, cool and unique collection, it must have felt great to complete the set. Or are you looking for the flat-top acoustic?

If he doesn't honor the sale then eBay should revoke his account.

I didn't know that a seller can cancel a bid after the auction has ended.

Yesterday I have won this 1965 Höfner Senator bass. My max bid was AU$710 and I won for AU$670 (US$652). It's in Australia and the seller stated that he will ship only to Australia, so I pre-arranged that a friend in Melbourne will receive it for me. I have never asked the seller to send the bass outside of Australia.

Then I get this message: "I can't send to Israel. Australia only sorry. - nomyth1964"

To which I replied: "No problem, I meant for the bass to be sent to a friend of mine in Melbourne, I will send the address later today, as well as the payment." And a couple hours later: "Hi Michael, I was aware that you do not ship outside of Australia, and want the bass to be shipped to Highett, VIC. Please send me an invoice including shipping. Thanks, Ilan"

His answer: "Hi, you didn't win sorry. Michael"

I am the winning bidder. I did not do anything wrong. The seller specified "Shipping to: Australia", and I want the bass shipped to Melbourne. There was no reason to cancel my winning. What do you think I should do now?

It's the mute compartment. Peavey supplied the bass with a block of foam mute that fits exactly in there.

I saw this one on eBay - pretty in black and only 10lbs. It's an early one with the pre-blade pickups.

Got the sheet music and I have until Sunday to go through it. It's doable. First is a Glenn Miller medley. I don't think I have ever played anything in Db before... The drummer has arranged for me a crash course in sight reading. And next rehearsal I'll sit next to a tuba player, to share the bass duties. So all is not lost.
